Welcome to the Sound Hunt app! This guide will help you get started and make the most of your experience.
How to Play
Single Player Mode
Follow these steps to begin your sound hunting adventure:
- Tap "Start Tracking" to enable GPS and audio playback.
- Select a target from the "Select Target" section to begin hunting for a specific sound.
- Navigate using the radar display - sound nodes appear as colored dots showing direction and approximate distance.
- Listen for beeps that get faster as you get closer to the target (within 30 meters).
- When you're within 5 meters, the sound will play continuously, and the target will be marked as found.
- Collect all 4 sounds to complete the game!
Multiplayer Mode - Sound Exchange Game
Play with friends in this fun sound exchange game:
- Record Your Sounds:
- Each person goes to "Set Sounds" mode on their own phone
- Record 4 unique sounds using the "Record Sound" button
- Place each sound in different locations by going to that spot and clicking "Set GPS"
- Your sounds are now hidden around your area!
- Exchange Phones:
- Swap phones with your friend
- You now have their phone with their hidden sounds
- Hunt Each Other's Sounds:
- Use the radar to find all 4 sounds your friend hid
- The first person to find all sounds wins!
- Or play cooperatively to help each other find all sounds

🎯 Capture the Sound
Team-based competitive game:
- Two teams, each with their own set of sounds to hide
- Teams must find and "capture" the other team's sounds
- Defend your own sounds while attacking others
- First team to capture all opponent sounds wins!
- Strategy tip: Place some sounds in hard-to-reach areas as defense
📖 Audio Story Quest
Narrative adventure game:
- Sounds form chapters of a story when collected in order
- Players piece together a narrative by finding sounds sequentially

- Found sounds remain playable in the mixer even after resetting the game

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, try the following:
- GPS Not Working: Ensure location services are enabled and you've granted location permission to the app.
- No Audio: Tap "Start Tracking" to enable audio. Check device volume and ensure sound isn't muted.
- Sounds Not Playing: Make sure you're using a modern browser and have internet for initial sound loading.
- Recording Not Working: Grant microphone permission when prompted to record custom sounds.
- Radar Not Updating: Ensure GPS is active and you've moved to a location with better signal.
